🌞 Vacation Bible School (VBS)
Vacation Bible School began as a simple response to a real need: children spending their summer days with little to do. A woman of faith created a Bible School to keep them engaged with activities that were both productive and spiritually enriching.
Today, VBS continues that mission—inviting children into a joyful, faith‑filled experience where they can encounter Jesus, grow in friendship with God, and feel at home in the Church.
✝️ What VBS Is All About
Faith Formation
VBS provides a structured, welcoming environment where children learn about:
- God’s love
- The Bible
- Christian values rooted in our Catholic faith
Through stories, prayer, and hands‑on activities, children discover the beauty of following Jesus.
Community Building
VBS strengthens the relationship between:
- Children
- Parents
- The parish community
It encourages friendships, trust, and a sense of belonging within the Church.
Joyful Engagement
Children learn best when they are engaged. VBS uses:
- Songs
- Games
- Crafts
- Skits
- Interactive lessons
These activities reinforce biblical teachings in a fun and memorable way.
🌱 How VBS Helps Children Grow
Spiritual Growth
VBS helps children:
- Understand the teachings of Jesus
- Develop a deeper relationship and friendship with God
- Experience the life‑changing power of the Gospel
These early impressions shape how a child will feel about God, faith, Jesus, and the Church throughout their lives.
Social & Personal Development
In a safe, structured setting, children develop:
- Teamwork
- Communication
- Empathy
- Critical thinking
They learn to interact with peers and caring adults in ways that build confidence and kindness.
🕊️ Why VBS Matters
Vacation Bible School is more than a summer program—it is an investment in the hearts and souls of our children. By combining faith, fun, and friendship, VBS helps lay a strong foundation for a lifelong relationship with Christ and His Church.
