“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” — Matthew 5:4
When a loved one passes away, the Church stands ready to walk with you in grief, prayer, and hope. At Holy Rosary Parish, we offer compassionate support and clear guidance to help families plan a funeral that honours the life of the deceased and proclaims our shared faith in the Resurrection.
🌿 A Sacred Farewell
The Catholic funeral liturgy is a profound expression of our belief that death is not the end, but a passage to eternal life. It includes:
- The Vigil (Wake Service): A time for visitation, prayer, remembrance, and gathering with loved ones
- The Funeral Liturgy: The central liturgy, offering prayers for the soul of the departed
- The Rite of Committal (Burial): A final farewell at the graveside or cremation site
Each part of the funeral reflects the dignity of the person and the mercy of God.
