Confirmation

Preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation
🌟 Walking with the Spirit: A Journey to Confirmation
Confirmation marks a profound milestone in the life of a young Catholic—an invitation to deepen one’s relationship with God and commit fully to living out the faith. At Holy Rosary Parish, we walk alongside each candidate with open hearts and a welcoming community, offering spiritual support, meaningful preparation, and joyful celebration.
✨ Who Is Invited?
Each year, students in Grade 7 are invited to complete their initiation into the Catholic Church through the Sacrament of Confirmation. Adults seeking the Sacrament are welcomed through our RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) program. They are encouraged to reach out to the pastor for guidance—those seeking confirmation need to be baptized as Catholics. If baptized in another Christian tradition, they are required to make a profession of faith. In some cases, students baptized into Eastern traditions are not confirmed in the Catholic Church as they were baptized, chrismated and received the Eucharist at baptism. The parish priest will explain this more fully to parents and students in these situations.
📝 Steps to Prepare
Here’s how we help our candidates journey toward Confirmation with intention and connection:
- Submit a Formal Petition Each student is invited to express their readiness by formally requesting to receive the Sacrament. Proof of baptism is required. All forms and requirements will be outlined in the parent and candidate meeting in the fall.
- Attend a Parent & Student Meetings A collaborative session to align expectations, explore the significance of Confirmation, and build community.
- Participate in the Parish Retreat Day A day of reflection, prayer, and spiritual growth exclusively designed for candidates preparing for Confirmation.
- Deepen Your Faith Connection Actively engage with your faith through participation in Mass, prayer, and parish events to build a personal and communal relationship with God.
- Guide your child in the at-home program provided at the initial confirmation meeting. Click on the button below for access.
